This strategic plan program outlines key initiatives and objectives aimed at enhancing academic efforts at Sundarban Hazi Desarat College. The plan recognizes the unique environmental and social challenges of the Sundarbans and aims to leverage them as opportunities for innovative and impactful academic programs. By integrating sustainable practices, community engagement, and interdisciplinary approaches, this program seeks to foster academic excellence, ecological conservation, and holistic development of learners

  • Program Implementation:
  1. Inculcate within the students, through the academic programmes issues, that address the region's environmental challenges, sustainable development, and social issues through the curricula
  • Faculty Development:

Encourage faculty members to engage in research and publication activities that contribute to the understanding and preservation of the Sundarbans ecosystem.

  • Student-Centric Learning:
  1. Implement student-centred learning methodologies, such as experiential learning, problem-based learning, and project-based assignments.
  2. Foster a culture of critical thinking, creativity, and innovation among students through interactive classroom activities.
  • Research and Innovation:
  • Establish research centres or institutes or schemesdedicated to utilizing the Sundarbans' ecosystem, biodiversity, and environmental challenges. And IQAC instituted 'Acharjya Prafulla Chandar Research Grant' to two faculties in an academic session for undertaking research upon area-specific issues.
  • Academic Collaboration and Exchange Programs:

a. Establish collaborations with other institutions of Higher Education and organizations to promote knowledge exchange, joint research projects, and faculty/student exchanges. To realise this vision the college has collaborated with Domkal Girls' College in 2020-21 for mobilising intellectual resources of both institutions.
