Sundarban Hazi Desarat college Central library was started along with the establishment of the college in 1961 in order to cater the academic needs of the faculty, students and non-teaching staff. Since then, the college Library has gone from strength to strength to live up to the expectations of its immediate clientele. It is one of the best-equipped libraries in the state of West Bengal.

At present, the total area of the Central Library is 310 sq.m , with its eco-friendly green campus. Central Library is having a healthy collection of physical as well as electronic resources to satisfy the need of its user community. Physical resources of the library are managed through the KOHA (in cloud version maintained by Avior technology), integrated library management software. Besides, it houses periodicals both in English and Bengali languages, newspaper, CDS/DVDS and other e-resources (through N-LIST consortia) for the use of its patrons. Call number is assigned to the books following the standardized classification scheme, i.e., Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC-23 ed.) Scheme.

Library provide open access system with 100+ sitting capacities and whole library secure under the CCTV surveillance. 

The Central Library of Sundarban Hazi Desarat College is one of the central facilities used by all types of members of this college and also by the ex-student and senior citizen persons.

Central library taken an initiative to making a Sundarban related museum for all type patrons.
