About the Department

B.A/B.Sc. (Geography)About Department :-

  1. Establishment of Department - Department of geography at first established in the year of 2013 .DIPANKAR GHOSH was the first guest lecturer and then  RAJIB ROY joined at our department as a gust lecturer also. Under their guidance our students get proper education and also succeed in different field of life. After that Sumon Sarkar and Samsuddin Laskar also successfully run the Department from 2019 still now.
  2. Courses Offered:-B.A and BSC GENERAL.
  3. Key Highlights:- Micro teaching, Group discussion, Total number of books.
  4. Notable Alumni – NIL 
  5. Strengths & Weaknesses of Department Good teacher students relationship, well and disciplined departmental culture, good innovative culture, strong management 

weakness:-Faculty inadequacy and not a advanced LAB and modern Department.

Academic Year-2017- 2018
An Wall magazine publication and debate competition was held in the department of Geography.

Academic Year- 2018-2019
Students of both the Department of Geography & Botany together attend an inter-departmental quiz competition on the day of Briksharopan utsav organized by the department  of Botany on 30.07.2019.

Academic Year- 2019-2020

Visit to local coastal area for awareness program to aware coastal erosion and management.

Wall magazine was published like every year on 5th September.

Academic Year-2020-2021

Wall magazine was Published on occasion of teachers day 2021, students are like Selima Ghazi Koushik Roy, Santonu Mondal Pabitra Mondal (B.sc 3rd semester) are participating on the online program. 
An online micro teaching program organized by the Department of Geography with the topic of greenhouse effect and global warming. 
An online quiz competition was held in department of geography by through Google meet.

Academic Year-2022-2023

A tree plantation program was organized by the department on college grounds on World environment day. 
Local excursion was organized by the work of people biodiversity register. On that day students collected local flora and Fauna data.
