Department of Education, organized an Online Lecture Series on “Educational Thoughts of Great Educators” in collaboration with Department of Education, Bamanpukur Humayun Kabir Mahavidyalaya on 23rd and 30th September, 2020. The speaker of the lecture series was Smt Sumita Chatterjee, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Education, Bamanpukur Humayun Kabir Mahavidyalaya. The speaker presented an excellent lecture on the topic for the students. On the first day, she presented the educational thoughts and philosophy of Sarvapally Radhakrishnan and on the second day, she presented the educational thoughts and philosophy of Rabindranath Tagore. The speaker also highlighted their educational thoughts in various application aspects.

The Department of Education in association with the Department of Political Science, Sundarban Hazi Desarat College organized an online special guest lecture on the topic “Legal Rights of Women and Children: Special Emphasis on Domestic Violence and POCSO” on November 13, 2020. In the CBCS syllabus of Education (Honours & General), there is a SEC paper “Skills for Democratic Citizenship” which are common to students of both departments. The initiative had been taken by the departments in order to make the students aware of the domestic violence and child protection. Mr. Q A M Firoz, Ex WBJS, Advocate was the speaker of the session. The session was very informative, interactive and thoroughly enjoyed by the students who actively participated during the session.

On 25thJune, 2021, Department of Education and IQAC, Sundarban Hazi Desarat College organized a special Invited Guest Lecture on “Educational Research and Methodology”. The speaker of the lecture was Dr. Debasri Banerjee, Professor, Department of Education, University of Calcutta. The speaker presented the topic in an excellent manner so that the students got a clear understanding of the topic. The students took active participation with interest. The session was very interactive and informative.

 

Department of Commerce (2020-2021)

 

  1. TEACHERS’ DAY POSTER PRESENTATION:

A teacher’s day poster presentation was organized by the Sundarban Hazi Desarat College on 5th Sept, 2020 in which various departments have participated in Online mode by presentation their e-picture through google meet, in which department of Commerce have also participated and launch their Departmental wall magazine and the theme was “Which Form of Business Is Best to Do” which is prepared by the students of the department of Commerce. 

 

  1. A DISCUSSION OF ECONOMIC & GDP SLOW DOWN DURING COVID-19:

A discussion using online platform has been conducted by the department of commerce for the students of Department of Commerce and other allied departments of the college on 23rdAugust, 2020 in which following areas have been taken up by the speaker and respected PrinciaplDr. Tarun Mandal, Sundarban Hazi Desarat College, Patankhali, West Bengal:

  • What is the current economic scenario of Indian economy?
  • Present Status of GDP Growth rate.
  • Why GDP growth rate is slowing down in India?
  • What are the options and ways to get back on track for the Indian Economy? 

 

 

  1. A DISCUSSION ON MUDRA SCHEME IN INDIA:

A discussion on MUDRA scheme in India was held on 19thJanuary, 2021 using online platform by the department of commerce for the students of department of Commerce and other departments of the college on 19th Jan, 2021 in which following areas have been taken up by the speaker Dr. Gautam Sen, Assistant Professor, Deptt. of Commerce, Sundarban Hazi Desarat College:

  • What are its types?

Department of Pol Science (2020-2021)

Publication of wall magazine:

Every year on the occasion of Teachers’ Day a wall magazine is published by the Department. 

Interdepartmental classes:

In order to develop holistic ideas among the students of the different departments, our department organizes interdepartmental classes at regular intervals. 

Guest Lecture:

The Department of Political science in association with the Department of Education, Sundarban Hazi Desarat College organized an online special guest lecture on the topic “Legal Rights of Women and Children: Special Emphasis on Domestic Violence and POCSO” on November 13, 2020. Inter departmental debate was organized on that day. The topic for this debate was, “Does the Domestic Violence Act actually ensure the safety of women in the domestic sphere?” The students participated with great vigor and enthusiasm.
