About the Department

This department started its journey in 1971-72 with General Course, subsequently introducing an Honours Course in 2014-15. With time the intake capacity and the enrollment under the Department has progressed significantly. In present times, both the CBCS and NEP curriculum are ongoing simultaneously, yet the Department has been able to manage them efficiently. Despite limited faculty members, the Department strives to provide its students with the very best. Our student body largely consists of first generation learners who come from remote areas, thus, our Department tries their level best to provide them with academic and psychological assistance. In an effort to develop our students into all-rounders, the Department organises departmental seminars, wall magazines, student seminars, debates, etc on a regular basis. In order to keep our students at par with the modern world, we have adopted ICT based teaching techniques. Our Department boasts a well nurtured relation between students and teachers. Our Department encourages students in seeking employment and becoming self-sufficient in the near future.
